Q: What type of
computer do I need to use eStore-Connect?
A: eStore-Connect is
hosted and maintained by Supplier Solutions in a world-class hosting
facility. All you need is a PC with an internet connection and an email
account - we handle the rest. You'll be able to login securely from
anywhere in the world and check your orders from anywhere in the world at
any time of day.
Q: Will I
be able to use the site for my other customers?
A:
Yes. eStore-Connect has the option to be opened up to do business with all
your customers.
Q: How
long will it take to set up eStore-Connect?
A: Your site can be set up within 5 business days and
you'll be able start customizing it right away.
Q: How will I get my orders? A:
You'll be able to view your orders online, have them sent to you via email
or download them in one of our predefined formats, such as EDI 850 or
CSV. We can also create a custom integration with your backoffice or
accounting sysytem.
Q: Why
does GE want to use Punchout?
A: Punchout is the best way for GE to integrate its
eProcurement software and allow you to leverage your investment in a
standard protocol that you can use with you other customers. The Punchout
protocol is built into eProcurements systems from Oracle, Ariba, SAP, B2GNow, PeopleSoft, ReQlogic and a growing host of other eProcurement systems.
Q: Will I
need to buy an SSL certificate?
A:
eStore-Connect uses our SSL certificate which GE recognizes as a secure
connection, so you won't have to incur the expense or hassle of a separate
certificate.
Q: Does
eStore-Connect meet all of GE's specific requrements for
Punchout?
A: Yes. Although Punchout is a standard, each
implementation can have it's own specific requirements. We have built all
of the requirements into eStore-Connect, so your site will
be Punchout Certified for GE right from the start.
Q: What if GE changes the Punchout
requirements? A: Only
eStore-Connect comes with the exclusive Punchout Compatibility Assurance.
We will maintain system compatibility with GE. As GE implements
enhyancements and routine upgrades, Supplier Solutions will upgrade
eStore-Connect to assure uniterrupted service for all buyers and suppliers
using eStore-Connect - at no extra cost.
Q: Will I
need to register with Oracle Exchange?
A:
GE uses the "Direct Punchout" model for connecting with their suppliers.
This reduces cost and an addtional layer in the Punchout process. Punchout
storefronts need to be able to support the Direct
Punchout method. eStore-Connect fully supports Direct
Punchout, and contains protocols and adapters which eliminate the need for
intermediary networks and exchanges.
